Christy's passport

October 28

After only a 1 1/2 hour of sleep the night before we get to the airport in pleanty of time. Only to learn that I have made the airline tickets in the name of Christy Ball and her passport is in the name of Christy Moody. Naomi is circleing the airport waiting for us to come out and get out carry on luggage. Well, first they tell Christy she is not going to be able to go on this trip. Then they say she has to needs to provide them with her marriage license. So, she calls Braden (you know how happy he was to get that call) then out to find Naomi and tell her to go get her marriage license. She finally satisfied them and we were the last one on the plane.

REGINA: Regina overslep, it is raining, Jr. takes the wrong exit so needless to say Regina missed her flight and does not get into Mexico City until 8:30pm and does not reach us until 11:30pm.

come with us to Mexico

I know you will find this hard to believe but, my daughter, Regina, will be 40 in November.
I tell everyone that she is really from Ray’s first marriage.
Regina is fairly sure that she was Mexican in her former life. As she does love Mexican food. So, to celebrate her 40th birthday, Christy (the other daughter) and I are taking her to Mexico for cooking classes.

Several years I saw this ad in the back of Gourmet and because of the location I always thought it would be a great place to go one day. The school is called La Villa Bonita (www.lavillabonita.com) . It is located in the small village of Tepozlan, about 90 minutes south of Mexico City, and another 30 minutes north of Cuernavaca. Back during my Girl Scout days I took my scouts to Cuernavaca, as there is a GS World Center located in Cuernavaca, and one day they took us on a field trip to Tepozlan. If you have ever been to The World of Coke in Atlanta, Tepozlan, is one of the villages in the movie where you can get a coke. It is rather an isolated spot and true Mexican is spoken there as opposed to Spanish.

Our classes start Thursday, October 30, and end November 6. We chose this particular class as it is the time they celebrate “The Day of the Dead”, Nov 1,; which is why Hallowee’s eve is Oct 31. I have always wanted to participate in their celebration. They have so much planned for us that week that several things we wanted to do they were not going to be able to work in. So, we have opted to go a couple of days early and do some of the field trips alone but with an escort. So, we will leave Oct. 28th.
And like most trips I will be blogging daily. So, if you would like to come along you can check in now & then to see what adventures we did that day.

A good friend from Atlanta, Chris Kennedy, who is celebrating a rather "special" birthday this year will be with us for the week. We are all looking forward to the week.
